Company History Nuremberg
It all started in the fall of 1986 and with an 8 year old truck. Klaus & Monika Rotter closed a market gap at the Nuremberg airport, while offering trucking services to the local freight forwarding industry. That is how K&M developed.
1989
The number of trucks were increased to 10. Daily pick up and deliveries in the ahole of northern Bavaria, from Hof to Regensburg, Weiden to Rothenburg and from Ingolstadt to Wuerzburg.
1991
The opening of our subsidiary (K&M Euro-Logistics GmbH) in Munich. We achieved a daily line haul from Munich to Nuremberg
1992
Handling road feeder service for Alitalia, Iberia and LTU.
1993
Daily line haul to and from Frankfurt
1994
New products –in Warehousing and Project Logistics.
1995
We operate with 20 trucks and the number of employees increased to 30.
1997
We extend our daily line haul services to Amsterdam and Luxemburg.
1998
New customers on board for our road feeder services, are Lufthansa, Martinair, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Swiss Air and Eva Air.
1999
We completely switched our fleet to MAN trucks, offering the newest technical standards. Due to additional handling activities at the airport facilities, we were able to create 15 new jobs.
2000
An extremely prosperous year. Our turnover increased by nearly 20 %, also an indicator of the number of our happy customers. We are now major provider at the Nuremberg airport for local trucking and line haul for air cargo.
2001
We received the ISO Standard Certificate 9002:1994 award.
2002
We call 43 trucks our own and consist of 65 employees. To fulfil our customer expectations in regards to our services, we continuously train our employees.
2003
We increased our warehouse capacity and centralized our offices at Nuremberg airport and received the ISO Standard 9001:2000 award.
2004
For the branches Forwarding and Logistics we created two trainee jobs.
2005
We extended our truck-fleet to 55 and the number of employees reached the magical 100 figure.
2006
We built a raps diesel gas station, and a truck repair and maintenance centre.
On a 5000 square meter area, invested in a distribution centre, covering 600 sqm office space and 2500 sqm warehouse area.
2007
A new warehouse with 1500 square meter storage area, will soon be available in Nuernberg-Boxdorf for storage, transit handling, pick and pack and distribution.
2008
We are proud to welcome Nippon Express as a new member of our clientele. The services we provide include warehouse administration, custom clearance and dispatching. At the Cargo Center 2 Nuremburg, we further expanded our warehouse surface by 1100 m².
For the airlines and forwarding agents, we will continuously improve existing logistic concepts and develop new ones, to meet the requirements of this rapidly changing market.
